Milia in the eyebrow area

A milium often appears as a smooth white or cream bead that does not behave like a soft spot of congestion. Eyebrow bumps can also be skin bumps or whiteheads, and close-up appearance alone may not settle the diagnosis. Makeup, hair-removal products, or rubbing can make the skin around the brow irritated without being the cause of every bump.

Keep brow skin clean with a gentle cleanser and avoid pressing tweezers, needles, or fingernails into the spot. Pause harsh scrubs and irritating products if the area is sore. A dermatologist may use a sterile opening and controlled extraction, or select a topical retinoid when appropriate. Treatment choice depends on the size, number, depth, and distance from the eye.

Book an assessment if the bump persists, multiplies, becomes red or tender, or is repeatedly traumatised by grooming. Get prompt medical advice for eyelid swelling, discharge, marked pain, or any change in vision. A new dark, bleeding, or rapidly changing lesion should also be examined rather than treated at home.
