Milia Causes: Why These Bumps Form

Primary milia can arise without an obvious trigger when dead skin cells become enclosed instead of leaving the surface normally. Secondary milia may follow a burn, rash, blister, abrasion, or other skin injury while the area repairs. Thick creams, ointments, or makeup may make bumps more noticeable, but a product is not automatically the cause. Because many conditions create small white or skin-coloured bumps, diagnosis should be based on the lesion's texture and setting rather than assumptions.
