What should you know about fraxel for pores?

Pores are openings around hair follicles and oil glands. They may look more prominent when the surrounding skin is rough, sun-damaged, oily or less firm, and shadows can make them stand out. Fractional laser treats microscopic columns in the skin, encouraging renewal and collagen remodelling around those openings. The aim is a smoother visual texture, not removal of a normal skin structure. If active acne, clogged pores or excess oil is driving the appearance, those issues may need their own plan.

At consultation, mention active breakouts, recent tanning, sensitive skin, cold sores and products that cause irritation. Ask whether a fractional laser or Microneedling approach better fits your texture and recovery preferences. After treatment, redness, warmth, dryness and flaking are possible. Cleanse gently, moisturise as directed and protect the face from sunlight. Avoid picking, abrasive scrubs and strong actives until the clinician gives permission.
