Robot assisted laparoscopic myomectomy

A surgeon controls slender instruments and a camera through ports in the abdomen. The system provides a magnified view and wristed instrument movement, allowing the surgeon to separate fibroid tissue from the uterine muscle and repair the uterine wall. The removed tissue is taken out through an incision, sometimes after being divided into smaller pieces using a method chosen for safety.

Contact the surgical team urgently for heavy bleeding, fever, worsening abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, faintness, breathlessness, chest pain, or a wound that becomes increasingly red or drains pus. Seek emergency help for sudden severe pain, collapse, or difficulty breathing.

Ask whether the fibroid location makes keyhole surgery suitable, how the uterine wall will be repaired, what tissue-removal method is planned, and whether pregnancy timing or delivery planning may change afterward. Ask how recurrence and future symptoms will be monitored.
