What should you know about right middle lobe pneumonia?

The right lung has several sections, called lobes. A chest examination or imaging report may identify inflammation in the middle lobe; the wording describes location, not how severe the illness is or what caused it. Pneumonia can cause cough, phlegm, fever, chills, tiredness, chest discomfort or shortness of breath. The illness may follow a viral infection such as Influenza or COVID-19, or may involve bacteria.
