Post nasal drip cough for months: what should you know?

Nasal drainage can keep irritating the throat, especially with ongoing Allergic Rhinitis, but a cough that continues for months has a wider set of possible explanations. Acid Reflux may affect the throat, and Asthma may present mainly as cough. Chronic Cough describes a prolonged symptom, not one single cause. The clinician may ask about medicines, smoking or vaping, workplace exposures, sleep, infections, wheeze, breathlessness, and coughing blood before deciding what tests are needed.
