What Is the Most Common Type of Ectopic Pregnancy?

A fallopian tube cannot expand in the same way as the uterus. As the pregnancy grows, it can stretch or rupture the tube and cause internal bleeding. A confirmed ectopic pregnancy cannot safely continue in the tube.

Call emergency services for sudden severe or one-sided Pelvic Pain, shoulder-tip pain, fainting, collapse, heavy vaginal bleeding, extreme weakness, or pale clammy skin after a positive pregnancy test. These may indicate rupture and internal bleeding. Do not wait for a scan appointment if these symptoms occur.
