What should you know about Mirvaso for rosacea?

Mirvaso contains brimonidine, which narrows certain surface blood vessels and may reduce persistent facial redness for a period after application. It does not remove every rosacea feature, such as pimples, burning or sensitivity, and it does not prevent every flare trigger.

Some people notice redness returning or becoming more intense as the effect wears off. Irritation, dryness or worsening redness should be discussed with the prescriber rather than managed by applying extra product.

Use Mirvaso exactly as prescribed on clean, dry skin and keep it away from the eyes, lips and broken skin. Apply only the instructed amount, wash your hands afterwards, and avoid adding irritating products on the same area unless your clinician approves them.

Track triggers such as heat, hot drinks, alcohol, spicy foods, stress or harsh skincare. A clinician may also discuss azelaic acid treatment for bumps and inflammation, or light-based options such as IPL Photofacial or pulsed dye laser treatment for selected redness patterns.

Contact your prescriber if redness becomes substantially worse after application, lasts beyond the expected effect, or comes with severe burning, swelling or eye symptoms. Seek urgent help for facial swelling with breathing difficulty, faintness, severe weakness or accidental swallowing.
