What should you know about hepatitis A IgM positive after vaccination?

Vaccination trains the immune system and can make antibody results harder to interpret soon afterward. A positive IgM result may reflect recent infection, a vaccine-related response, or a result that needs confirmation; the timing alone cannot settle the question. Your clinician will consider the date and reason for vaccination, symptoms, exposure history, and other hepatitis A antibodies. Feeling generally unwell, nausea, loss of appetite, dark urine, yellow eyes, or abdominal discomfort should be reported.
