What should you know about hair mesotherapy results?

A response may be judged by changes in shedding, hair calibre, coverage or scalp comfort, rather than by a single dramatic change. Hair grows in cycles, so visible improvement cannot be promised immediately. Some people notice little change, and an apparent response may reflect more than one part of a plan. Your clinician should use consistent photographs and examination findings when comparing visits.

If hair loss continues, the underlying diagnosis may need revisiting. Female Pattern Hair Loss, nutritional problems, hormonal changes, medication effects and inflammatory scalp disorders are managed differently. Mesotherapy does not replace that assessment.

Before treatment, agree on the target outcome and how it will be measured. Keep the same parting, lighting and camera distance for home photographs if your clinician requests them. Report ongoing shedding, itching or scaling, and do not add several new scalp products at once because that can obscure irritation or make the response difficult to judge. Ask when the plan will be reviewed and what would prompt a change.

Arrange an assessment for rapid worsening, a new smooth patch, scalp pain, crusting or marked inflammation. Contact the clinic if expected post-injection soreness is getting worse or if the treated area becomes hot, increasingly red or draining. Lack of improvement should lead to a diagnostic review, not automatic escalation to more sessions.

Ask what outcome is realistic for your diagnosis, how it will be measured, when review is due, how long treatment is intended to continue and which alternatives exist if the response is limited.
