Ectopic pregnancy bleeding: what it can mean

Ectopic pregnancy bleeding may be lighter, darker, or different from a usual period, and it may start and stop. Bleeding alone cannot show where a pregnancy is located. The pregnancy may be in a fallopian tube, where growth can stretch and damage tissue. Internal bleeding can happen even when vaginal bleeding seems limited or absent.
