Chest Folliculitis: What You Should Know

Follicles can become irritated by sweat, heat, tight clothing, shaving, rubbing, or occlusive products. Bacteria can contribute, and yeast-related follicle inflammation may behave differently from a bacterial infection. The spots may be centred on hairs and appear in clusters across the upper chest, back, or shoulders.
