White pimples under the nose

The area can collect oil, saliva, nasal discharge, cosmetics, and friction from tissues or face coverings. A single whitehead may be acne; several itchy bumps around hairs may fit folliculitis. Burning, dryness, and clusters around the nostrils or mouth can occur with perioral dermatitis. Shaving can trigger razor bumps, especially where hairs curl back into the skin. Crusting, oozing, or spreading redness is less typical of a simple blocked pore and should be assessed.

Clean gently after meals, sweating, or a runny nose, and pat rather than rub. Use a plain moisturiser on irritated surrounding skin and avoid fragranced balms, thick occlusive products, and harsh acne treatments near the nostrils unless advised. Do not squeeze the bumps. If shaving contributes, pause close shaving until the skin settles and use a clean tool when you resume.

Arrange a review if the area repeatedly flares, becomes painful, crusted, swollen, or fails to settle with gentle care. Seek prompt help for rapidly spreading redness, severe tenderness, fever, facial swelling, or eye symptoms. A rash that extends around the mouth or follows a new cream may need a clinician’s diagnosis before treatment.
