What should you know about uric acid urine test?

Depending on the reason for testing, you may collect urine over a set period or provide a single sample. Results are interpreted with your symptoms, kidney function, medicines, diet, and blood results. A higher or lower result does not by itself diagnose a kidney stone, infection, or another condition. The test may help explain recurring stones or guide treatment when uric acid balance is a concern.
