Underarm Wart: What to Know and How It Is Treated

Warts can appear as a firm, rough, skin-coloured or darker bump. In the underarm, rubbing from skin folds or clothing may make the surface irritated. A wart can spread to nearby skin or another person when infected tissue is touched, especially if the skin is scratched or damp.

Not every underarm bump is a wart. A skin tag, inflamed follicle, cyst, or another lesion can look similar. A clinician may examine its surface and pattern before recommending treatment. Do not cut, burn, or tie off an uncertain growth at home.
