Tiny white spots around eyes: what to know

A smooth white or skin-coloured bump can be a closed pore, while a firm pearly bump that does not easily change may be milia. Redness, tenderness, itch, or a cluster of bumps can point toward irritation, acne, follicle inflammation, or dermatitis. The area around the eyes is delicate, so appearance alone cannot confirm the cause.

Do not assume a spot near the eye is acne or try to squeeze it. The surrounding skin can become irritated, and products used too close to the eye may cause burning or watering.
