Temporalis Botox: What to Know

The temporalis is a broad muscle at the side of the head that helps with chewing. Injection placement and the amount used must account for its function, nearby structures, facial symmetry, and the reason for treatment. The aim may relate to muscle prominence, tension, or another clinician-assessed concern; it is not a general treatment for every temple hollow or wrinkle.

Botulinum toxin type A temporarily reduces signals between nerves and muscle. As activity changes, the treated area may feel different during chewing or expression. The effect develops over several days and gradually wears off, so follow-up timing should be agreed with the injector.
