Stretch Marks in a Second Pregnancy

Stretch marks are changes in deeper skin support structures, not a sign that you have cared for your skin incorrectly. Pregnancy-related expansion, hormonal changes, genetics, and body-size changes can all influence them. Marks may be red, purple, brown, or pale and can feel itchy while they develop. A previous pregnancy does not determine exactly how your skin will respond this time. Gentle moisturising may ease tightness, but it cannot reliably prevent or erase marks.

Use a bland moisturiser if the skin feels dry, avoid scratching, and choose comfortable clothing. Tell your obstetric team and dermatologist about every cream, supplement, or procedure you are considering.
