Stretch marks on the thighs
Paha means thigh. Lines on the inner or outer thighs may follow growth, pregnancy, weight change or muscle development, although they can also occur without one clear event. Early marks may be pink, red, purple or brown; mature marks often become pale and slightly indented. They are benign skin changes for many people and are not caused by poor hygiene.
Options for the thigh area
Keep the skin comfortable with a bland moisturiser and avoid harsh scrubbing. If you want more change, a dermatologist can discuss Microneedling, Fractional Laser Treatment, RF Microneedling or Carboxytherapy after examining colour, texture and skin tone. Treatment is usually planned around the size and number of areas, and improvement is gradual. Avoid treating over an active rash, wound or infection.
When to have them checked
Arrange medical review if thigh marks appear abruptly and extensively, or come with easy bruising, weakness, unusual facial changes or other new symptoms. After treatment, seek advice for spreading redness, increasing tenderness, heat, pus, blisters or fever. These signs can indicate irritation or infection and need specific care.
What to discuss
Ask which treatment suits the thigh’s skin thickness and pigment, how the area should be prepared, what clothing or activity restrictions apply, and how long redness may last. Mention pregnancy, breastfeeding, active skin disease and any history of raised scars.
