Strawberry spots on the arms: what to know

Uniform rough bumps may reflect keratin or dry skin, while red bumps centred on hairs can occur with folliculitis or friction. True pimples may have a blocked pore or whitehead. Shaving can contribute to razor bumps. Facial-centred patterns with burning or redness can point toward rosacea or perioral dermatitis rather than ordinary acne. A clinician may ask about products, sweating, hair removal, and medicines.

Cleanse without scrubbing, rinse after sweating, and choose loose clothing over areas that rub. Avoid squeezing and pause any new fragranced product that stings. Use a simple moisturiser if the skin is dry. If spots persist, a clinician can decide whether acne care, folliculitis treatment, or another approach is appropriate. LED Light Therapy should not replace diagnosis of painful, infected, or changing lesions.

Arrange an assessment if spots are spreading, painful, pus-filled, repeatedly returning, or leaving scars. Seek prompt care for fever, rapidly spreading warmth and redness, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty after a suspected product reaction. A changing dark mark or a spot that bleeds without healing also needs review.
