What should you know about small flakes on scalp?

Fine white flakes with mild irritation can occur with dandruff. Greasy scale and redness may fit seborrheic dermatitis, while thicker, sharply defined scale can occur with scalp psoriasis. Scalp ringworm may cause scaling together with broken hairs, tender areas or patches of hair loss and needs medical treatment.
