What should you know about slight headache?

Short answer
A slight headache is often manageable with rest, fluids and attention to triggers, but new or concerning features need medical assessment.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What a slight headache can mean
A mild ache or pressure may occur with muscle tension around the scalp, neck or shoulders. It can also accompany a common cold, allergic rhinitis or chronic sinusitis, especially when congestion or facial pressure is present. Dehydration, skipped meals, bright light, prolonged screen use, poor sleep and stress can contribute. A headache symptom by itself does not identify one particular condition.
Keep track of when it begins, where it is felt, how long it lasts and any associated symptoms such as nausea, fever, vision change or weakness. This pattern can help a clinician assess it.
What you can do now
Drink water, eat if you have missed a meal, and rest in a quiet, dim room. Gentle neck and shoulder movement may help when tight muscles are involved. Take breaks from close screens and avoid alcohol while symptoms continue. If you use an over-the-counter pain medicine, follow its label and check with a pharmacist if you have a medical condition, take other medicines or need it repeatedly. Do not exceed the stated dose.
When to seek care
Seek urgent help for a sudden severe headache, confusion, fainting, a seizure, new weakness or numbness, trouble speaking, a stiff neck with fever, repeated vomiting, or a headache after a significant head injury. Arrange a medical review if headaches keep returning, progressively worsen, disturb sleep, or come with persistent fever or changes in vision. In an area where dengue fever or COVID-19 is circulating, fever and other illness symptoms deserve specific advice.
Questions for your doctor
