RF microneedling for a double chin

Insulated or non-insulated needles deliver radiofrequency heat at selected depths while creating controlled micro-injuries. Around the underside of the chin, this approach is generally discussed for skin quality and lax tissue. A fuller appearance can also reflect fat volume, bone structure, muscle position, or loose tissue extending into the neck; RF microneedling is not designed to address all of these factors. A close examination helps separate skin laxity from fullness before treatment.

Choose a qualified medical provider who can map the jawline, chin, and neck and explain the device settings. Share any history of poor wound healing, keloid scars, active acne, cold sores, skin infection, or recent cosmetic treatment. Afterward, keep the area clean, avoid rubbing the puncture sites, use recommended soothing products, and protect the neck from sun. Allow the skin to recover before judging the result.

Call the clinic if swelling becomes pronounced or one-sided, pain increases, redness spreads, or the area becomes hot or drains fluid. Blisters, significant color change, fever, or difficulty swallowing or breathing need prompt medical assessment. Do not massage a painful or increasingly swollen area unless the treating clinician specifically directs you.
