On the treatment day, the skin can feel hot or tight, with pinpoint marks and redness. During the next day or two, mild swelling, sensitivity, and a sandpaper-like feel may be noticeable. Small dry spots or light flaking can appear as the surface renews. Over the following days, visible irritation usually eases, although the treated area may remain sensitive to heat, friction, and sunlight. Deeper changes in firmness and texture develop gradually rather than immediately.

Use only the cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen recommended for your skin after treatment. Keep hands off peeling areas, avoid picking, and pause retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs, and fragranced products until the skin feels settled. Avoid strenuous heat exposure, swimming, and makeup for the period your clinician advises. Protect the area from direct sun and tell the clinic about medicines or active skin conditions before another session.

Contact the treating clinic promptly if pain, swelling, or redness is worsening instead of easing, or if the skin develops spreading warmth, pus, fever, blisters, marked darkening, or pale patches. Seek urgent help for facial swelling with breathing difficulty. A clinician should assess persistent irritation before you restart active skincare or schedule another treatment.
