What should you know about ResurFX for stretch marks?

ResurFX is a fractional, non-ablative laser. It delivers heat into narrow columns of skin while leaving surrounding areas available to support healing. The treatment aims to encourage collagen remodelling and make the colour and texture of striae less noticeable; it does not erase the underlying change in the skin. Newer reddish marks and older pale marks can respond differently, and body location, skin tone and mark width affect planning.

Choose a qualified clinician who can distinguish stretch marks from another rash and assess whether the skin is irritated, infected or recently tanned. Discuss pregnancy, breastfeeding, medicines that increase light sensitivity, pigment changes and any history of poor healing. After treatment, use the recommended bland moisturiser and sun protection, avoid deliberate tanning, and pause irritating exfoliants until the skin feels settled. Several appointments may be suggested, spaced to allow recovery.

Call the clinic if treated areas develop increasing pain, marked warmth, pus, spreading redness, fever or blisters. Seek urgent care for facial swelling, breathing trouble or a rapidly spreading reaction. Mild warmth, redness, swelling and temporary darkening or lightening can occur, but a clinician should review changes that are severe or not following the expected pattern.
