How to remove warts on feet

A plantar wart grows on the sole or toes and may have a rough surface, interrupted skin lines, or small dark dots. Walking pressure can push it inward and create tenderness. A callus or corn can look similar, so diagnosis matters before applying a wart product. Foot warts can spread through picking, shared footwear, or damp communal surfaces.

Treatment choice depends on the lesion, pressure point, skin condition, and whether you have diabetes or reduced circulation. Cushioning around—not directly over—the sore area may reduce pressure.

Arrange an examination if a foot growth bleeds, changes, becomes increasingly painful, spreads, or does not improve with sensible care. Seek earlier medical advice if you have diabetes, poor circulation, numbness, or reduced immunity; treating a lesion yourself can cause a wound that heals slowly. Urgent care is appropriate for spreading redness, warmth, pus, fever, or severe pain.
