What should you know about relief from threadworms?

Threadworms, also called pinworms, are small worms that live in the bowel. Itching around the anus, especially at night, is typical because worms may lay eggs on the surrounding skin. Sleep can be disturbed, and scratching may irritate the skin. Some people have no symptoms. Abdominal pain or bedwetting can have many causes, so those symptoms alone do not establish threadworms.
