What should you know about an RCC blood test?

RCC is not a universal label for one single blood test. Different clinics may use the abbreviation for different tests or panels. Ask the requesting service to expand the term and identify the marker being measured. Depending on the intended test, blood work may help investigate blood-cell changes, infection, inflammation or organ function. Conditions such as anaemia, chronic kidney disease, brucellosis or glandular fever can require different assessments; an abbreviation alone cannot identify a diagnosis.

Take the request form and any previous results to the appointment. Confirm whether fasting is required, whether you should take regular medicines, and how results will be communicated.
