What should you know about Radiesse hands before and after?

Before treatment, the clinician examines the backs of your hands, including skin quality, visible veins, tendons, bones, symmetry and movement. Radiesse is a calcium hydroxylapatite injectable that can add support beneath the skin and encourage a longer-term tissue response. It does not erase every contour or replace a surgical procedure.

Straight after treatment, small injection marks, tenderness, redness, bruising or swelling may make the hands look fuller than the settled result. As these effects ease, the contour can look smoother and less hollow. Individual healing varies, so photographs taken at different times are not a reliable promise of your own outcome.

Tell the injector about medicines, allergies, previous fillers, bleeding problems, immune conditions and any rash or infection. Clarify the planned product, injection areas, aftercare and review appointment. Follow the clinic's advice on washing, pressure, exercise and hand use after the procedure.

Do not press, knead or try to reshape treated areas unless specifically instructed. Keep follow-up communication available, especially if one hand becomes more swollen or painful than the other. A clinician can distinguish expected settling from a problem that needs examination.

Contact the treating clinic for worsening discomfort, spreading redness, warmth, increasing swelling, hardening, numbness, blisters, colour change or reduced finger movement. Seek urgent care for severe pain, pale or dusky skin, breathing difficulty or swelling of the face or throat.
