What should you know about psychological ed?

Short answer
Psychological ED describes erection difficulty affected by stress or mood, while persistent fatigue should be assessed for physical and emotional causes.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

Understanding the terms
Psychological erectile dysfunction can involve performance worry, relationship strain, low mood, grief, poor sleep or a previous difficult sexual experience. Stress can divert attention toward threat and interfere with arousal; the physical response is genuine. Physical and psychological contributors often overlap, so variation by situation is a clue rather than a diagnosis.
Fatigue means reduced energy or stamina that does not improve as expected with rest. It may accompany burnout, Alcohol Use Disorder, Anaemia, Chronic Kidney Disease, Coeliac Disease, COVID-19, Dehydration or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Fatigue can also worsen concentration, mood and sexual interest.
Useful next steps
For erection concerns, note timing, desire, morning erections, medicines, alcohol, sleep and stress. For fatigue, record sleep quality, activity, mood, diet, fluid intake and associated symptoms. Gentle routine, regular meals, hydration and consistent sleep may support recovery, but persistent symptoms need assessment.
A GP can review both concerns without judgement, examine you and decide whether tests are useful. A Blood Test may help investigate fatigue or general health, while Diabetes Screening may be considered when symptoms and risk factors point that way.
When to seek care
Seek urgent help for chest pain, severe breathlessness, fainting, confusion, new one-sided weakness, severe dehydration or thoughts of self-harm. Arrange prompt care for fatigue with unexplained bleeding, black stools, marked weight change, persistent fever or rapidly worsening weakness. Sudden sexual symptoms with genital injury or severe pain also need prompt attention.
Questions for your doctor
Could my fatigue, sleep or mood be affecting sexual function? Which medicines or conditions should we review? Do I need a Blood Test or Diabetes Screening? What support would help with stress, relationships or low mood?
