Short answer

PSA fatigue is not a specific diagnosis; persistent tiredness needs context, symptom review, and sometimes medical testing to find its cause.

This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What fatigue can mean

Fatigue may feel like low energy, heavy limbs, poor concentration, or a need to sleep more than usual. It can happen after an infection, disrupted sleep, emotional strain, inadequate food or fluids, or demanding work. Anaemia can reduce oxygen delivery and cause tiredness, while kidney disease can contribute through changes in waste handling and fluid balance. Alcohol use may disturb sleep even when it makes you drowsy initially. Fatigue that continues, worsens, or interferes with work and daily activities deserves a proper review rather than a label based on one symptom.

What you can do now

Keep a brief record of sleep, meals, fluids, medicines, alcohol, activity, mood, and any new symptoms. Aim for a regular sleep routine, gentle activity as tolerated, balanced meals, and steady hydration. Avoid using stimulants or supplements as a substitute for assessment. A clinician may ask about bleeding, weight change, snoring, mood, recent infection, and medication effects, then decide whether examination or blood tests are appropriate.

When to seek care

Arrange medical advice if fatigue is persistent, unexplained, or affecting normal functioning. Seek urgent help for fatigue with chest pain, severe breathlessness, fainting, new confusion, marked weakness, or signs of serious dehydration such as inability to keep fluids down and very little urine. Contact a clinician promptly if there is black or bloody stool, heavy bleeding, or rapidly worsening illness.

Questions for your doctor

Ask which causes fit your pattern, whether your medicines or sleep could contribute, and which examination or tests would be useful. Mention when the fatigue began, what makes it better or worse, and whether you have fever, pain, breathlessness, mood changes, or weight change.

Questions people ask

Can fatigue be caused by dehydration?

Yes. Losing fluids can reduce circulation and leave you weak, light-headed, and tired, especially during heat or illness.

When should ongoing fatigue be checked?

Book an assessment when tiredness persists, is unexplained, or limits daily activities, particularly if other symptoms are present.
