What should you know about pre chickenpox symptoms?

The early symptoms can be mild and resemble other viral illnesses. The rash often starts as small red spots, then becomes itchy blisters before crusting. New spots may appear while older ones are changing, so different stages can be visible together. Chickenpox commonly affects the trunk, face, scalp, and mouth. Shingles is a different pattern caused by reactivation of the same virus and usually follows a more localised band of painful blisters.

Avoid close contact with pregnant people, newborns, and anyone with a weakened immune system until a clinician confirms when exposure is safe. Do not scratch blisters; keep nails short and use gentle skin care.
