What should you know about a PMD microdermabrasion machine?

A rotating or moving abrasive disc loosens surface cells, while suction helps maintain contact. This can make skin feel temporarily smoother and can improve the appearance of dull surface texture. It does not diagnose or cure every cause of roughness, pigmentation, or breakouts. Pressure, speed, disc texture, and repeated passes all affect irritation.

Do not use it over open cuts, active rashes, infected skin, cold sores, or a recent sunburn. Be particularly cautious around the eyes, lips, and thin skin.

Start with clean, dry skin and test a discreet area. Use a gentle pass with minimal pressure rather than trying to polish the skin. Keep the device moving, follow cleaning instructions, and never share a handpiece or disc. Use moisturiser after treatment and apply broad-spectrum sun protection. Wait before adding scrubs, exfoliating acids, or retinoids back into your routine.

Get medical advice if you develop blisters, crusting, pus, severe tenderness, facial swelling, or redness that spreads or does not begin settling.
