What should you know about pico spot laser?

Unlike broad resurfacing, spot treatment is aimed at specific areas. The laser energy can fragment pigment, and the body gradually removes the resulting particles. A treated spot may temporarily look darker, feel warm or form a fine surface crust before it settles.

Possible targets include sun spots and selected areas of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Melasma and widespread uneven tone often need a broader plan because pigment can be diffuse or return with light and heat exposure. A clinician should inspect any mark that is new, changing, bleeding or not clearly benign before laser use.

Tell the provider about tanning, previous reactions, scarring tendencies, cold sores, medicines and active skin conditions. Do not conceal a changing mark with cosmetic treatment. The provider may photograph the area and choose a test spot or conservative settings when skin response is uncertain.

Clean the area gently after treatment and use the recommended ointment or moisturiser. Protect it from sun, avoid rubbing or lifting crusts, and wait for the surface to heal before using irritating exfoliants. Follow-up helps distinguish expected fading from persistent or returning pigment.

Contact the clinic for increasing pain, worsening swelling, blistering, pus, spreading redness or a wound that is not healing. Arrange medical review if the spot changes in shape, colour or behaviour; a cosmetic laser appointment is not a substitute for skin-cancer assessment.
