Ovulation pain lasting two days

The follicle and surrounding tissues can irritate the pelvis around egg release, leaving an ache after the initial sharper pain. Timing can be hard to predict because cycle length and ovulation do not always follow a calendar. Pain that continues, returns outside the middle of the cycle, or affects both sides is less typical of a simple ovulation episode. Endometriosis and Ovarian Cysts can cause overlapping pelvic pain, so the timing alone cannot confirm the cause.

Write down when the pain began, whether it is improving, and any bleeding, discharge, fever, nausea, bowel or urinary changes. Warmth, rest and gentle movement may help. Choose pain relief only if it is safe for you and use the package instructions. If the episode lasts beyond your usual pattern or keeps returning, arrange a clinical review. Bring your symptom record so the timing can be compared with periods and other cycle signs.

Seek urgent care for sudden severe pain, fainting, heavy bleeding, fever, repeated vomiting, a rigid or swollen abdomen, or pain when pregnancy is possible. Arrange prompt assessment for pain that is steadily worsening, prevents normal activity, or comes with unusual discharge. Do not wait for a predicted ovulation date when warning signs are present.
