Can a nose thread lift be permanent?

Most nose thread lifts use absorbable polydioxanone threads. They are placed beneath the skin to provide mechanical support and may stimulate some collagen response around the treatment area. The threads do not remain indefinitely, and any early change caused by their physical support can lessen as they break down.

Some contour improvement may outlast the threads because collagen and tissue healing can add support, but that effect varies between people. Skin laxity, facial movement, ageing, sun exposure and the original shape of the nose can all affect how long the result is noticeable. A thread lift does not reshape nasal bone or cartilage in the way surgery can, so it should not be presented as a permanent structural change.

Have a qualified clinician assess your nasal skin, soft tissue, goals and medical history. Ask which thread material will be used, what change is realistic for your anatomy, how the threads will be placed, and what follow-up is included. Avoid judging the final contour immediately because swelling and temporary asymmetry can obscure the result during early healing.
