What should you know about mixed headache?

Short answer
A mixed headache can combine features from different headache patterns, so the useful next step is to record symptoms, triggers, and warning signs.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What a mixed headache may involve
Pain may feel tight or pressing in one episode and throbbing in another. Nausea, sensitivity to light, neck tension, blocked-nose symptoms, missed meals, dehydration, heat, stress, and poor sleep can overlap. A headache itself does not identify one cause. Allergic Rhinitis, Chronic Sinusitis, a Common Cold, COVID-19, Dehydration, Dengue Fever, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, and Heat Exhaustion can each be relevant in the right context, but symptoms need clinical interpretation.
What you can do now
Rest somewhere quiet and cool, drink fluids if you can, eat a regular light meal, and reduce bright screens while the pain settles. Note when the headache began, where it hurts, its character, associated symptoms, recent heat exposure, sleep, food, medicines, and any new illness. Use pain medicine only as directed on its label or by a clinician; repeated frequent use can itself sustain headaches. Arrange a routine assessment if attacks recur, change pattern, interfere with work, or need regular medicine.
When to seek urgent care
Seek urgent medical help for a sudden severe headache, new weakness or numbness, confusion, fainting, a seizure, trouble speaking, vision loss, a stiff neck with fever, repeated vomiting, severe dehydration, or a headache after a significant injury. Fever with a rapidly worsening illness, marked drowsiness, or a new rash also needs prompt assessment. Do not drive yourself if you feel confused, faint, or unsafe.
Questions for your doctor
Could the pattern fit more than one headache type? Which symptoms should I track? Could my medicines, sleep, eyesight, blood pressure, sinus symptoms, or fluid intake be contributing? What pain-relief plan is suitable for me, and when should I return if the pattern changes?
