I love Botox: what should I know?

Botox is a brand commonly used for injections containing botulinum toxin. The medicine reduces nerve signals to selected muscles, so repeated expressions become less forceful and overlying lines may look softer. It does not replace lost volume or improve every type of wrinkle; lines visible when the face is relaxed may need a different discussion. Contact the treating clinic if you develop marked asymmetry, significant eyelid drooping, persistent pain, or visual symptoms. Get emergency help for trouble breathing or swallowing, widespread weakness, severe allergic symptoms, or rapidly worsening symptoms. Do not wait for a routine review when symptoms affect breathing or swallowing.
