What should you know about hyaluronidase lips?

Lip filler can look uneven, feel lumpy, migrate beyond the intended border, or create unwanted fullness. Hyaluronidase may soften or remove hyaluronic acid gel in a selected area. It does not dissolve every filler material, so identifying the product and injection site matters. The lip can look temporarily different while fluid, irritation, and filler settle.

A consultation should include the timing of the original filler, the amount and brand if known, previous reactions, and any current pain or colour change. Reversal is a medical treatment, not a home procedure.

Choose a qualified medical injector who can examine the lips and explain whether the concern is expected post-injection swelling or a filler-related problem. Bring treatment details and disclose allergies, medicines, pregnancy, and prior reactions. After treatment, follow the clinician's instructions, avoid pressing or massaging the area unless directed, and monitor changes in swelling, tenderness, and colour.

A review may be useful if the result is still uneven after the initial settling period. Further filler should wait until the lips have been assessed and the tissues have recovered.

Contact the treating clinic promptly for worsening pain, pale or dusky skin, unusual coolness, marked asymmetry, or a rapidly changing area. Seek emergency care for trouble breathing, throat or tongue swelling, faintness, or widespread hives. These signs need urgent assessment and should not be managed by waiting for hyaluronidase to work.

Ask which filler is present, what problem the injection is intended to address, how much change is expected, whether a review is needed, and which symptoms should trigger same-day or emergency care.
