What should you know about hormonal headache behind eye?

Hormonal shifts can affect headache thresholds and may coincide with migraine-like pain, light sensitivity, nausea, or a one-sided ache. The location behind an eye does not by itself prove a hormonal cause. Changes in sleep, meals, hydration, stress, heat, screens, or caffeine can also contribute.

Allergic Rhinitis, Chronic Sinusitis, Common Cold, COVID-19, Dehydration, Dengue Fever, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, and Heat Exhaustion can produce headache or facial pressure in different patterns. Eye redness, vision changes, fever, or neurological symptoms change the urgency.

Note when pain starts, its side and duration, cycle timing, sleep, food, fluid intake, heat exposure, congestion, fever, and vision changes. Rest in a quiet dim room, drink fluids if you can, eat regular meals, and use only pain medicines that are suitable for you and follow the label or a clinician's advice.

Avoid repeatedly treating headaches without review, particularly if they are becoming more frequent. A clinician can decide whether the pattern fits migraine, sinus symptoms, eye disease, infection, or another cause.

Get emergency help for a sudden explosive headache, weakness, trouble speaking, fainting, confusion, seizure, new vision loss, a painful red eye, or severe eye pain with nausea. Seek prompt care for fever with a stiff neck, repeated vomiting, a new headache after injury, or a headache that is steadily worsening.
