What should you know about heat spots on chest?

Small red or skin-coloured bumps can follow hot weather, exercise, tight clothing, or prolonged dampness. Blocked sweat ducts may cause prickling or itching. If each bump sits around a hair, irritation or folliculitis may be involved; uniform bumps can also resemble acne or other rashes. A chest spot alone does not identify one diagnosis.

Rinse after sweating, pat the skin dry, and choose loose, breathable clothing. Cleanse gently without scrubbing, loofahs, or picking. Pause oily body products and fragranced sprays on the area while it settles. Keep pillowcases, exercise clothing, and towels clean.
