Heartburn and sore breasts

Breast tenderness commonly reflects changing hormones, while heartburn results from stomach acid moving into the food pipe. They may appear together during a menstrual cycle, pregnancy, or while taking hormone medicines, but they can also have unrelated causes. Breast pain is a symptom rather than a diagnosis, and most breast pain is not caused by an abscess or cancer.

Note when each symptom began, where breast discomfort occurs, and whether meals or lying down worsen the burning. Wear a supportive bra, avoid foods that trigger reflux, eat smaller meals, and stay upright after eating.
