Headache Behind the Eyes and COVID-19

COVID-19 may include headache alongside fever, sore throat, cough, tiredness, muscle aches, a runny nose, or a change in smell or taste. Some people have only a few symptoms, so pain location cannot confirm the cause. A blocked nose can create pressure around the eyes during a viral illness, while migraine may bring nausea and sensitivity to light. Dehydration from fever, sweating, vomiting, or reduced drinking can add to head pain. Allergic rhinitis and a common cold can produce similar facial pressure without being COVID-19.

Follow current local guidance about testing, staying home when unwell, and reducing close contact, particularly around people at higher risk. Rest, drink fluids regularly, and choose light meals if appetite is low. Keep the room comfortable and limit screens if they worsen symptoms.
