What should you know about groin tendonitis symptoms?

Short answer
Groin tendonitis symptoms commonly include inner-thigh pain with tendon loading, tenderness, reduced strength, and discomfort that returns during activity.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

Recognising the pattern
Groin tendinopathy commonly presents with aching or sharp discomfort near the inner thigh, pubic bone or front of the hip. Symptoms may be reproduced by squeezing the knees together, lifting the leg, sprinting, kicking, climbing stairs or changing direction. The area can feel tender after activity, and the leg may feel less powerful even when there is no visible swelling. Some people notice pain at the start of exercise that changes as they warm up, then returns later. Muscle Soreness After Exercise tends to follow unfamiliar exertion; recurring pain with a specific tendon load needs a clinical assessment.
What to do about symptoms
Record which movements bring on the pain and reduce those loads temporarily. Keep gentle, comfortable activity if it does not increase symptoms later that day or the next morning. Avoid repeated maximal squeezing, sprinting and kicking while the tendon is irritable. Physiotherapy can assess the hip, pelvis and adductors and prescribe progressive loading. Strength Training Rehabilitation may rebuild capacity; Shockwave Therapy or a PRP Injection may be considered for selected persistent cases after the diagnosis and options are discussed.
When to seek care
Seek assessment when groin symptoms persist, interfere with sport or work, or return each time activity increases. Prompt evaluation is needed for a sudden pop, bruising, marked weakness, inability to walk normally, fever, numbness or rapidly worsening swelling. Pain at rest or at night also merits review rather than repeated self-testing, because tendon symptoms can overlap with hip, bone and abdominal conditions.
Questions for your doctor
Ask which structure is most likely involved, what examination findings support that view, which activities are acceptable now, and how progress will be measured. If treatment beyond exercise is proposed, ask what symptom or tissue it targets and what rehabilitation remains necessary.

Questions people ask
Are groin tendonitis symptoms always severe?
No. Symptoms can range from a mild activity ache to pain that limits walking, and severity alone does not identify the cause.
Why does the pain return after exercise?
A tendon may be tolerating more force than it can currently recover from, so a graded load plan can help rebuild capacity.
