How to get rid of restless legs

Short answer
To ease restless legs, review medicines and iron status with a clinician, keep regular sleep habits, and use gentle movement, stretching, warmth, or massage before bed.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What restless legs can mean
Restless legs is an urge to move the legs, often with crawling, pulling, or uncomfortable sensations that appear during rest and improve briefly with movement. Restless Legs Syndrome is a condition that commonly presents with this pattern, especially in the evening. Iron deficiency anaemia, chronic kidney disease, and peripheral neuropathy can also be relevant contributors, so the symptom does not identify one cause by itself.
Steps that may help
Keep waking and bedtime consistent, limit caffeine later in the day, and avoid nicotine or alcohol near bedtime. A short walk, calf stretch, warm bath, heating pad, or leg massage may settle symptoms. Record when the sensations begin, what relieves them, and whether sleep is affected. Do not start iron supplementation without checking whether iron deficiency is present; excess iron can be harmful and the appropriate product depends on your results.
When to seek care
Arrange a medical review if symptoms repeatedly disturb sleep, interfere with work, are becoming more frequent, or began after a new medicine. Seek urgent help for one-sided leg swelling, sudden severe pain, marked weakness, chest pain, or breathlessness, because those features need assessment for problems beyond restless legs.
Questions for your doctor
Could a medicine, iron deficiency, kidney problem, or nerve condition be contributing? Should my blood tests include iron stores? Which treatment is suitable if sleep remains disrupted?
