What should you know about fractional CO2 laser upper eyelid?

The laser creates tiny columns of treated tissue while leaving surrounding skin available to support healing. It may be considered for fine lines, uneven texture or selected surface changes on the upper lid. The eye itself is not treated: a qualified clinician uses appropriate ocular protection and keeps the treatment zone precisely defined. Redness, warmth, swelling, peeling and temporary sensitivity can occur as the skin repairs.

Tell the clinician about eye disease, previous eyelid surgery, medicines, cold sores, poor wound healing and a tendency to develop dark marks. Arrive with clean skin and follow instructions about products that may irritate the area. After treatment, use only the recommended cleanser, ointment and sunscreen; do not pick peeling skin or rub the eyelid. Avoid makeup, heat and sun exposure until the surface has recovered.
