What should you know about Fotona Er:YAG?

Er:YAG refers to the laser medium and wavelength, while Fotona is the equipment platform. Depending on the handpiece and settings, treatment may ablate a very thin layer of skin or warm tissue with less surface removal. This makes the platform adaptable, but the expected result depends on the concern, treatment depth, skin tone, and clinician’s plan.

A consultation should distinguish resurfacing from other uses. The clinician examines the area, asks about medicines and previous reactions, and discusses whether a lighter or deeper approach fits your goals. Redness, warmth, swelling, sensitivity, crusting, or temporary pigment change can occur after treatment.
