Flu vaccine and whooping cough together

Influenza is caused by flu viruses, while whooping cough, also called pertussis, is a bacterial infection that can cause prolonged bouts of coughing. A flu vaccine does not prevent whooping cough, and a pertussis-containing vaccine does not prevent influenza.
