What should you know about flank pain test?

Your clinician may ask whether the pain is on one side, whether it began suddenly, and whether movement, meals, urination, or breathing changes it. They may examine your abdomen, back, and flank, and check for tenderness. A urine sample can look for blood or signs of infection. Blood tests may help assess inflammation and kidney function.
