What should you know about filling under eye wrinkles?

Under-eye wrinkles can reflect repeated smiling, thinner skin, dryness, reduced elasticity, or sun-damaged skin. Crow's feet are movement-related lines at the outer eye, while lines directly beneath the eye may also be shaped by a hollow or loose skin. Filler adds structure or volume; it does not relax an overactive muscle or repair every surface change. Identifying the pattern matters before choosing treatment.

A clinician should examine your expression at rest and during movement, skin texture, eyelid anatomy, and the position of any hollow. Botox may be discussed for selected movement-related lines, while dermal fillers may suit a carefully assessed hollow or etched contour. Daily sun protection and gentle moisturising support skin care. Tell the clinician about eye disease, medicines, allergies, previous injections, and any swelling under the eyes.

After an injection, report increasing pain, unusual skin colour, worsening swelling, fever, or discharge promptly. Sudden vision changes, severe eye pain, double vision, or difficulty moving the eye require urgent medical attention. New one-sided facial weakness or a rapidly changing eyelid should also be assessed medically rather than treated as an ordinary wrinkle.
